What do we do at Off the Ground?
A pole studio means so many things to so many different people. At OtG, we promise you the following.
- Our studio will be a safe space to train, dance, exercise, with fully qualified, insured and first aid trained instructors of the highest quality. We have respect for your health, safety and long term longevity of your body above anything else.
- Our studio is also an inviting and safe space for everybody who is respectful.
- We encourage all sorts of diversity, from your personal appearance, to your lifestyle, ability and style of dance.
- OtG respects and supports all those who contribute to our industry.
- OtG supports sex workers and strives to educate as many people as possible on the struggles and marginalisation the industry is subject to. We employ sex workers to teach (wherever possible) our sexy style classes.
- We have a ‘No Body Image Bullshit’ policy at OtG. As well as championing body image neutrality, we do not shame anybody, and believe you make your own choices about your own body. We have been working with SYEDA (South Yorkshire Eating Disorder Association www.syeda.org.uk) to train our instructors on how to spot and help with eating disorders.
